Could someone please help me. I'm thinking about bidding on the item on ebay at the link below, but I have never seen an ANACS holder like that one. I just want to make sure its legitamate. I always try to be careful when I'm bidding on ebay. I want to make sure its not a fake. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Dorion

It sure looks like an old ANACS holder to me. I liked those old ones better than the new holders because of the nice small size.

Thanks for your reply! How old does it look to you? The coin is a 2004 coin? Do you think they stopped production of this holder before 2004?

Not sure about how often they change their holders...

but I see 2 different fonts being used. not sure if that's significant though

Hi Dorion,
The holders look legitimate. You might be able to call ANACS and ask them if the serial numbers actually match the coins.

I know ANACS was using the small holders at least into late 2005 since they slabbed some coins I sent in at that time, using the small holders.

Good luck if you decide to bid!

Well, the bidding has ended, but it's real. Did you win it?

Everyone, thanks for your replies and help. Although I was high bidder, I did not win it because I did not meet the reserve (which I'm sure was very close to the buy-it-now-price). Thanks again for your help!

The right hand slab was used from April 2000 til August 18th 2005. The left hand lab was used from August 18th 2005 til Feb 2006.
