How would you grade this one?
A lot of die polish marks are evident on the reverse.

I LOVE the color on this coin. not knowing the grading criteria on this coin, and only basing it off of some Canadians I have been grading and shipping off to PCGS, I would give it at least an MS63

The grading criteria is the same as for any other silver coin.
Wear, Strike, dings/marks, Lustre and eye appeal
Just grade it as you would say a 1958 Canadian 50 cents.

Given that this particular coin is about the same diameter as a cigarette butt there is quite a lot of detail on the coin for its size.
I haven't submitted many coins that have this much pronounced die polishing on it and I wonder how PCGS vector that in with the overall grade.

There is No wear, the strike is good, there are no discernible marks or scratches, the lustre is full and unbroken also the coin looks rather nice as well, Just those die polishing lines that ARE distracting.
It will be interesting to see how PCGS grade this particular coin.

So I was looking this up on PCGS... and the example picture shown is a PL67+ I think yours is as nice if not better... you can see some of the die polish marks on the example they posted too... and you have to remember PCGS edits their photos unlike most of us here on CCF...

That particular coin is one that I submitted last year and now resides in a Mates 1902 type set.
As I remember the die polish marks were not as pronounced on that coin as this one.
Technically this new coin is very similar grade wise.
I would be nice to match that grade with this one

He is a Mate and he did ask nicely
I also got him a couple of other coins that enabled him to finish his 1901-1910 Brit type set and make it into the top place
