Hello, 1st off, I'm new to all of this so please pardon my ignorance on the subject. Myself and son recently became interested in error coins. I've encouraged it 100% as a hobby we can share. So far, we haven't found many significant errors. I came across this dime (by accident) and hoping someone can educate me on it! There's a cut going through the head that goes all the way across the dime. On one end, the edge flattens. There's also a similar cut through part of the center/back (but not nearly as obvious as the front). My pictures may not be the best, but I will gladly take more if needed.

it looks like maybe your dime was attacked by an axe and the part above the Y in Liberty was sanded down or pressed in a vice. Sorry to say, looks like damage after it left the mint. PMD

PSD. Someone worked it over in a garage. It wasn't struck that way.
