At first I was thinking environmental damage... then I thought perhaps something weird going on with the dies... perhaps grease or corrosion.. then went back to thinking it may have been in the ground or salt water....

Truth be told I have absolutely no idea... so I would like someone to chime in and tell me what I've got here and what has happened to this coin!

Buried in acidic soil and then cleaned is my guess.
