Took this Kennedy out of a mint set......thinking of sending it in for grading for my collection what do you guys think?

That looks even better out of the plastic. I say send it in, has to be a 67+.

Can you take pictures straight on? Sometimes angled shots can hide some flaws.

Absolutely beautiful coin though!

The new shots reveal some discoloration, but nothing major. One spot on the obverse may be a ding or just a discoloration. I can't see anything on the reverse. This is the first time that I've noticed Roberts gave Kennedy a small cowlick on the back of his head.

As far as score, might go MS66? What would it take for a 68?

edit: just noticed I'm approaching a milestone of 500 posts. Has to be a jingly contest for the weekend

Usually coins in mint sets are not gems , but this Kennedy is outrages in every respect . I'm calling it MS67 . Send it in .

Your half dollar is from a Proof Set, not a Mint Set. I do see a Mint Set in your second photo but the Proof Set has the foil seal with clear mylar while the Mint Set has the plastic Mint pogs and color strip mylar.
