I don't know about grading on this one. The rainbow toning looks nice, but there is too much on the fields - almost looks like it is falling off the devises. I can't think of a good word for it...maybe a late die state.

I love that Toning! and almost impossible for it to be AT in the mint wrapper, but I wouldn't put it past someone shady to have resealed it somehow... Its almost like we always have to be on guard these days

Biedercoins, cjwebber, brushy bandit....thanks for the comments on the toning it is very nice I agree!

When I bought the set there were no pics of the coins....just the yellow envelopes! Nothing in the description hinted to a toned nickel or anything special. They had multiple 1964 Kennedy sets for sale, the pic in the auction was just 3 yellow envelopes. I can't see someone toning a coin resealing it and then not post a pic to grab buyers attention in the auction. I didnt know I was getting this coin! He gave me a cheaper price because I bought 5 sets. I bought the set to get a 64 Kennedy in uncirculated condition!

Yesterday when you posted that I almost added that I would strongly recommend never to remove it from the packaging just so you would never have to worry about someone thinking it was AT.

I didn't because it looked like you had already received plenty of responses. I wish I had.

Moxking do you think if I sent it to get graded they can tell the difference between artificial toning and natural toning?

I would spend $20 or so (if you already have NGC membership or ANA membership or PCGS) to get it grade. I think it would worth it, especially if you can get the "photo view" to go with the grade.

OR you can contact GreatCollection and do a consignment with them (they will take care of the grading and deduct the grading fee (bulk discount for them so cheaper than us doing it) from the final price.
