A recent pick up. I am a novice when it comes to grading gold.
I think this could be AU-55 to MS-62ish...very nice luster but I do not know how much the obverse marks detract from the grade, if they even do. Hard to tell the leeway with TPG's.

I have been pleased with the TPG grade results from a couple $2.50 gold Indians I had sent in, but this $10 is new territory for me.

Let me know your thoughts! Thanks as always! RK

I checked some images of PCGS MS-63 examples of this date sold on Heritage and contact marks for those pieces are comparable to what I'm seeing on your coin. Luster seems subdued on your piece by comparison; without the coin in-hand it's just a guess as to whether luster has been impaired by brief circulation. My guess would be AU-58 based on what I can see.

AU-58 was what I was thinking. There are a lot small marks on the cheek, marks in the field and the top of the wing seems to be rubbed.

This is the second most common $10 Indian date, next the 1932. The TPG have done some lose grading on these so don't be surprised if you see similar coins in lower end Mint State holders.

It does look like a slider that shouldn't require much luck to land in a MS62 holder at a major TPG.
