Hey guys,

So I was fortunate to pick up this piece from a bargain bin!

Anybody have any idea of its origin? The details and design remind me of Mexican coinage but I can't be sure.

My local jeweler did confirm that it's gold and offered me $20 on the spot.

It is about the size of a US dime.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Hmm. ARTU REX as the legend on the obv (2nd pic) suggests 5th century England (King Arthur), but whoever made this token generally used modern shapes for the letters (the exception is the letter A). The pattern of damage is odd, with all scrapes on one surface. I think it is a modern token, but no idea on who made it and why.
