I don't think it's VAM-43.
First of all, the ear doubling is very prominent for VAM-43.
Second of all, the mintmark for VAM-43 is centered and upright, whereas your coin seems to be set left and slightly high.

Not seeing this as a VAM-43. Make sure to check date and MM position. Hard to tell if the ear doubling is even legit or if it is a product of die wear.
