Hi is this a double on the tail of the 9 in this 1955 half?

this is hard for me to tell unlike machine damage I can see were the two tips of the tails of the nines do indeed separate with some space (the very tips) were with machine damage I would suspect the doubles to be touching?

The images are too close to see what is going on with your coin. 3-5 devices per image is better. It shows us how major/minor the even that happened to your coin.

Looks pretty much normal when you see it that far back. If you could get some horizontal shots of the date, I snag an image from Heritage coins that might make a good side by side to see if they are different or not?

The last ones have too much light. I'll check back to see what you have tomorrow.

I'm not seeing hub doubling on your coin. The area on the 9 might be a bit of MD or a contact mark. But I made a SBS with three others on HeritageCoins.com:
1955-Proof-Half-Double?
Other than the blunt end on the inside of the 9 it looks normal. (no mention of this in any publication about the blunt end, but I noticed it mainly on the cameo listed coins on Heritage) The rest of the proof coins showed the tapered ends.
