Hello,
My name is Carl and my 'handle' is Timewise44. My Dad passed away some time ago. He was in banking all of his life and always was actively building a coin collection. I did not see it very often but I do know that in the late 1960's he had the collection home to work on it and someone broke into our house and stole much of that collection.

Over the following years he slowly rebuilt the collection. It is all US coins and some interesting U. S. Currency. I inherited the collection in 2010 after my Mother passed away. I have studied and read all I can find about coin collecting and currency, but have been hesitant to sell anything.

I am now retired, living in the Kansas City area and have time to spend working with this collection. This website offers me an opportunity to learn and consider additional purchases or possible selling opportunities. But, as most of you already understand, you have to know what you are doing to buy or sell coins and currency. So for now it is all about continuing to studying and gaining more knowledge.

Hope to share information with many of you as I continue this journey. I will for sure as questions seeking your knowledge and perspectives.

Thanks

to the community from Oz. This site is a great place to gain knowledge about anything to do with coins and notes.

If you are after coin and note values you could check out e-bay to get a rough idea of their current worth.
Rest in Peace

It seems like a lifetime since I've seen my parents, my Dad died in 1975 and my Mom in 1984..

In 2002, I was able to trade a high grade Saint Gauldens double eagle to my last living Uncle for my Grandfathers Currency and Stamp Collection (my grandfather passed in Jan.1956 & my uncle in 2010)..

Both collections (+ my ephemera collection) is boxed up for my oldest Granddaughter to inherit..

Can't wait to see what your Dad has in his collection, and hopefully there will be some errors to post..

I think many here can guide you should you decide to sell any part of your collection..

Hi folks. I'm another newbie who inherited some coins. They're in little boxes and jars. I look forward to learning from you!
