Many coins, mostly silver, had one side shaved off so it could be engraved. Usually with initials. These were called love tokens.
This is not an error. The damage was done to it after it was minted.

Regarding the photos, If you try to upload a photo with the SAME NAME as one you have already uploaded with the previous 24 hours, the new photo will overwrite the previously uploaded photo(s).
The first three photos all have the same name, the fourth photo has a different name, so I have no explanation for that one.
All four photos look identical to me.

A nice feature of posting is the ability to edit or erase your post within a 24 hour time period. Helps with decluttering threads and improves communication. Just click the correct icon above your post.
I agree that one side of your V-nickel was probably removed. A balance could verify that its weight is well below the nominal 5 grams.

It is a heavily worn V nickel. Back when these were struck a nickel had buying power and people spent them over and over.

Quote: notice the marks on the back is this a miss struck coin It is either heavily worn, an old pocket piece or just ground down to remove the features. Those two marks happened long after the coin was struck.
