How Much Would You Pay For A Libery Cap?

I would like it to be AG, G, or VG. It can be a details grade. What would YOU pay for one in that condition? Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

For the sake of discussion -- if we assume an R2 (common) variety Large Cent -- in a TPG slab, expect to pay anywhere from $200-$400 for an AG details w/severe issues, to $800-$1200 or more for a problem free VG8. So my answer would be "between $200 to $1200" and that's only a rough estimate. Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6384 Posts	Posted 03/22/2016 8:13 pm I would save my money until I could afford a pleasing certified VF (or better!) with strong detail on both sides and no serious problems. Given the way Liberty Cap large cents are graded today, to me anything below VG would be pretty ratty. Remember what I wrote about the reverse on these coins. If all other factors are decent, if you find a VG with all of the reverse lettering, grab it. The cheapest date and variety is the 1795 with the plain ridge. Report this Post to the Staff
