I'm only buying X for X and the few NCLTs but that won't be enough to maintain MC status... so I'll have to figure something out this year. Should I continue?

I'm actually starting to look at US bullion - for the first time. I might be moving off to a different forum....... just kidding. I still enjoy reading posts about Canadian NCLTs.

I will say this: it's been a fun ride. However it took me 4 long years to unload my entire collection (Circulation & NCLT) at a reasonable price. Paid off my house and feel that it was the right decision.

As per SilverDon, because of the zillion of NCLTs coming out each month and their immediate deflation I would probably revert back to circulation coins as well. But I'm totally bored with 1937 designs so for me that's out of the question.

That's why I'm sticking to X for X. Right or wrong, I think this is a unique category and I feel comfortable with the concept of pure silver & equivalent face value.

I hope X for X continues.

To my understanding, purchases made at Canada post now count towards your masters club account provided you mention it to them and give them your membership number.

Someone let the Mint know that 8 new S$20 NCLT issues a month is completely unnecessary

Yes, NCLT is issued once a month, message boards light up, this or that coin is hot, almost sold out, "hurry and buy", yada yada ....then next month the cycle happens all over again.

Regardless of the losses many of us have taken on RCM NCLT, this hobby is still fun for some. Obviously (and for good reason) not for all.

The debates and the "yada yada" every month are all part of it, though not to be taken too seriously.

Can anyone confirm this? If true, can this be done for canadapost.ca web orders? I'd prefer ordering from Canada Post and still keep my MC status plus also be able to use a cashback site and get 2.5%.

The notification email I received regarding this said "bring your masters club member number with you and give it to the Canada Post clerk...."
It also says "shop in store" so I'd guess the website won't work.

I have to say I never understood why you would pay full price for coins just for membership. It seemed to me, in my travels on ebay, that if there was ANY coin you wanted, it could be found eventually on ebay.

I think the RCM shot themselves in the foot with too much product and too high prices.

The last RCM coin I bought was back in 2015 when I got the 2014 ANA privy chicago maple leaf. Since then, I have not bought anything, mind you I am still looking for a Great Lakes Michigan coin and 2015 privy Chicago ANA maple leaf.

Outside of that, I dotn really look at much RCM NCLT coins, even tho spot prices are improving. Then again I am havent bought much of any mints NCLT coins.. and I am buying again.....

Not buying from RCM has some serious disadvanteges for me in Europe. Shipping, custom and administrative cost do add up. Only with combined shipping costs are kind of OK. A single coin with CDN$ 60.- cost at RCM will cost double until I hold it in my hands....

I was never a MC member, but if you added up the $$ I have spent at the Post Office I would be for the last few years.

I would think this also applies to many in this forum. Why order direct from the RCM when you can save on shipping and get the instant gratification when buying at the PO?

When I started collecting I focused on NCLT, but over time as my interests expanded I moved over to 1935-1967 silver dollars and even bullion - there's a lot of collectibility in bullion and you get so much more for your money.

Personally, I don't view NCLT as a good investment these days given the amount of product the RCM is churning out. I do like to pick up the annual silver dollar and the odd piece that strikes my fancy, but that's about it.

Too bad you can't buy bullion straight from the RCM.

there are too many coins you may want , that never get to canada post,, also there are several coins that you may want that you can only hope to get from the mint..
for example.. I wanted the five silver penny set. and the last penny rolls, and the renewed dollar coins, so you can;t always wait, I am sure there are more I can't think of off the top of my head, but you get the idea..

According to the news, published on the other site and mails from Rep, RCM will limit XforX coins purchase (3 for 100for100 as example), looks like Mint surelly not interested to get new MCs via XforX purchase.

In addition, was mentioned, that "Face Value Program" will be updated.
I suspect, that following RM, it will not be easy to unload/deposit them.

Personally, didn't like these news.
I had nice set of "200for200" - imo good coins, but I didn't want to stuck with 2oz silver coins, that will drop their value from CAD200 to CAD50. Went today to my TD bank and deposited all. Will remain with first 10 20for20 in collection, that's all.

So....please no panic, I see some other people take same steps in advance and deposited the coins....probably best to do it, since it possible still.
