Just now have seen this news

In my opinion - great coins should be.
Classic and timeless designs

"The Royal Mint's established bullion portfolio continues to grow with a new series of gold and silver bullion coins. The coins will depict one of the The Queen's Beasts, reimagined by a highly-praised new talent, Royal Mint Coin Designer Jody Clark"

Interesting, where is possible to get them now...
Rest in Peace

Nice enough to consider. I wonder what the other beasts will be and the surcharge over spot.

I love this design. The silver is 2 ounces, so it will be a little higher priced than other bullion, even before the premium. I just saw one on pre-sale on ebay for $59, which is a little high, at about $30/ounce. I made a call to the US supplier today, but won't get a call back until Monday. I'll let you all know what pricing they come back with and if they have any minimum quantities.

There will be a 10 ounce and 1/4 ounce gold coin and a 2 ounce silver coin.

Only the 10 ounce coin is available now since they are asking folks to register their interest for the other ones.

Royal Mint considers these issues to be bullion releases, so they will mint what they can sell to both dealers and customers.

If the mintage for the 1 Oz gold was super low, or, a very low proof mintage, I'd grab some, they are soooooo British & handsome indeed. I saw the link to ampex for about $1,263.00 for the gold..same rough price as the bullion Britannia..as you all know in here, the day is coming when we look back and say..crud... I KNEW I should have bought more.....nice looking new series..in hand, I'm sure worthy of any RM collection.

I just saw these myself today. The design looks REALLY good IMO. Will have to get a few of these to go along with my Privateer rounds. If I can scrounge up the money that is... too bad they aren't 1oz so they could fit in my future custom Dansco album!

I'd like to get a silver one if the premium isn't too high, nice looking coin and the series seems like it could be very cool!

@SilverBug - Haha! That was my exact same thought! 10 years to complete a collection? The price of gold may be prohibitive by then (or not!) :D

I think we're having two threads for the same coin series:

Just shows how popular these are... :)
But it would still be good if one of the mods could close one of them to make it easier for everyone.

@omxfl - Indeed. I'm not sure which one to post to :)

Since I'm here, I might as well mention that the 1/4oz gold is now up for purchase at The Royal Mint Bullion website: https://www.royalmintbullion.com/Pr...sts/QB16LQCP
