hi all, I bought myself this coin for $200 Canadian.

i cant find any info or values on it accept for a couple websites and one sold example. the info iv'e gathered is that it is a 2 year type and gas a mintage of about half of the 1873. this coin is really nice and looks PL. it is IMO AU-58 or UNC. the coin has some scratches that I cant decide weather they are cleaning or roller lines..either way they aren't too noticeable. the coin is very attractive but needs a quick acetone bath. ANY help would be greatly appreciated, especially a value and the rarity, I would like grade opinions too but I couldn't get good pics of it. the coin is very attractive in person.

Very nice coin! Not that I know anything about it, but $200 CAD sounds like a decent price, especially considering the melt value of $186.13 CAD. From what I found on numista, there was a proof issue, although a mintage is not listed.

I'm not sure, but I assume the NGC figures are somewhat accurate.

Nice coin. Here in Germany it would sell for around 250 € I guess. One problem about German Empire gold coins is that there have been produced plenty counterfeits. In the 50s and 60s there was an eye Doctor Who forged many counterfeits of these gold coins that fit weight, material and diameter. For some of these counterfeits the only option to see them for what they are is to compare the edge inscription to authentic pieces.

Better pics of your coin would be good though.
