I'm making a 1941 - 1945 WWII US Coin Set and I'm purchasing nice looking coins...coins that look good to the eye. Coins that represent the series well. I'm almost done with the Jeffersons and I noticed I didn't have a Jefferson with quality Full Steps. I picked this one up, it has some gold toning and Full Steps. It cost a few more bucks then the others in the series, BUT it's nice looking. Hope you enjoy as much as I do. 1 more coin to go and I'll show off the whole Jefferson series to you. Can't wait. Thanks Dan

One50, How did you get such even lighting across the coin? What type of lighting and camera are you using? Great pics.

Beautiful coin. I really enjoy the original Jefferson portrait. The new nickels are no improvement.

That is one of the best FS Jeffersons that I have seen from that era. I can see why this set you back some. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the collection.
Andywoj, I believe he used axial lighting to get the even lighting effect on this coin.

That scratch that cuts across the lower two steps above the "C" worries me.

I use my Samsung Galxy S5 phone. The camera app that comes with it. No flash Auto White Balance set to "off" Then White balance is set to "Incandescent" I also shut off "HDR" Hold the camera at elbow distance. My elbows rest on the desk for support. Zoom in till the coin fills the 1:1 framing I set. Set the app to take pictures from my voice...."cheese"...click.
The light is a 40 watt "natural light" incandescent. It's a desk lamp that looks like the lamp that jumps around at the beginning of Disney Pixar movies....you know the one.
Shine it at a slight angle till I get the least amount of glare.

Kanga, The scratch doesn't worry me to much as I'm not having it graded, it's going in an album, but thanks for pointing it out.
Thanks for the kind words all. The rest to be shown hopefully in the next month or so.
Thanks Dan
