When searching for Perth Mint GOLD or Pamp GOLD. An item main description should have the word GOLD in it, yes or no? Talking $20,000 dollars here. I call it fraud. A novice collector will buy them, store them away, find out years from now their counterfeit. p.s. Check out his completed items, you won't believe some!!

I stumbled across these 3 listings and my red flag went up.

Seller garv.scot

It is not clear to me why you think this is fraudulent.

A beanie-baby with free 1 oz. "gold" bar? Like the other listings, the seller neglects to include the word "gold" as the OP pointed out. Just calls 'em Perth bars.

If price exceeds $1200 winner receives a 1 oz bullion, AU kangaroo bar, just because this is a kangaroo.

How does one know if these are fakes? The only way id after you get it, and weigh it, or, use a bullion wand, right? Looks real to me? If ebay is loaded with fake gold and silver bars now, the whole bullion dept needs to be cleaned up..and HOW do you do that?

My interest is gold. How do you know the're real? Its time to clean up the entire process of selling gold and silver. Especially gold.
I don't want to see a buyer cash his invested gold, months or years from now, and find out they were fakes.

When selling bullion worth thousands of dollars more seller guidelines must be implemented.

Chances are, low feedback sellers of gold worth thousands are selling counterfeits. Chances are, low feedback sellers of gold worth thousands are selling authentic gold.

How can stock photos and whited or blacked out serial numbers be allowed.
How can a seller use "similar to the actual item" be allowed.
How can "random bar and serial number from my safe" be allowed.

Gold bars For starters , Seller must post photo of actual item with serial number[gold bar and/or assay card].
Detection of fakes, can be made with a photo comparison.
20 seconds to scan or photograph is not much to ask for anyone selling GOLD.

I think in today's day and age, if someone is smart enough to want to invest in gold using online means, they should be smart enough to purchase only from reputable sellers. Why would you want to buy from some random ebay seller to save a couple bucks when you're investing in the hundreds? It just makes no sense.
