Another new addition, one that I have had on my list for a while. I was hoping I would see a better/cheaper one but the last one I ordered was cancelled (because the seller hadn't updated the stock and had sold it already)

I could wait no longer though... so plumped for this one which I think is an attractive example just not priced as competitively as I would have liked.

David, do you have an online gallery of your collection anywhere? Or plans to post one?

Thanks guys,

no I don't... and I didn't plan on posting one. I just have an excel document with a catalogue and a folder with the screenshots of each that I have purchased.

I do have a collecting plan (to fill each of the pages in my black leather folder with 2x2's... some of the pages are full (small silver Greeks, Miscellaneous Romans, mixed Asian... some have one or two spaces; Large silver Greeks, USA, UK) but my Greek bronze page is only half full (so 6 more to go...)

On the list I have Kamarina (owl reverse with 3 dots in exergue) Zuegitania stag and palm tree and also a Philip II with horse reverse. After that I will still have a couple of spaces to fill and no clue what coins to put there.

With the large silver coins I have the opposite problem... not as many spaces as options....I have to decide if I want a new style tetradrachm to go with my archaic one or if I want an example of Tarentum. Either way it will be an expensive hole to fill.

I always looked at my collecting as a bit of a pension pot but when I finish this folder I think I might start trying to collect some money that is still in general circulation rather than spending it all on coins and watches. Maybe then I will post an online gallery.

Great coin. Is the rev legend "larissa"? I see a lambda and an alpha, but the other letters are more degenerate.

You cannot go wrong with a beauty like that. You will forget the few extra dollars you paid but you will always love this coin.

I read the legend "LA-RI-SAIWN" (with a little help from other coins on Wildwinds)

You are right Mox...
