Specifically, I'm looking at increasing the amount of wheat cents in my collection by a great deal. I'd like to fill a few of the 1941-1970 folders that I have lying around, and I know that wheats of these dates seem to be available in circulation.
How many wheat cents have you all been finding per $25.00 box lately? Any other tips?
Thanks!

My average is around 10 per box. Sometimes more sometimes less.

It's been getting tougher finding wheats from what I've seen.
Last box I did, I collected 8 wheat cents. I scored with a nice 1917 and some higher grade 1950's issues, but that was about it.
Used to be that I could find 15+ easily per box. Maybe I'm just not having luck recently.
So, I'd say go the box route if that interests you. You never know what you'll find.
Barring that, you could always ask around for coin stores' extra examples or to go through someone's hoard if you know someone who collects. I'm friends with a cashier who saves wheat cents for me. Once got a bag of 30+ wheats from her in addition to her weekly finds.

Recently I got a full roll of them. But usually I get about 1 per couple rolls.

Recently, though, I haven't been getting many.

If you need some for your 1941-1974 folder, I have thousands of cents in those years, so pm me if you're interested & I'll give some to you free. They're in average condition.

I haven't been finding many at all. The most I've found in a $50 bag recently is 16. I haven't found more than 10 in a $25 box in a VERY long time. Last week, I had a $50 bag with ONE wheat.

I'm still working through $40 of CWRs but it's been better than the last couple of boxes I searched. 27 Wheats so far out of this box. Around 24 AU+/BU LMCs. 4 LMC S mints, a few 2009s. And looking at the BU zincolns; around 35. The bigger deal for me are the error/variety specimens. Perhaps 70 of these to do some study/attributions for. I have around 7 or 8 I've already ID'ed and in flips. I suspect out of the 70 or so left, I may ID another 10. That said, I still have about $15 still left to search, so those numbers are in flux.

I hear you Child! Your busy with school (and other interests); work has been rather demanding on my time of late. But I've also focused on nickels trying to find the elusive '39D. The $40 in cents I have was the result of good timing when returning nickels. One of the bank tellers just took them in so I bought them up. That was nearly 8 weeks ago! The larger quantities of Wheats and high grade LMCs had me hooked for a short period, but then what little time I had went to the nickels.

I use to get 14-17 per box. Lately I've gotten 7-10 per box.

I average 15-20 wheats per box. (side note: I scored a '94 DDR and '98 WAM in my last 2 boxes)

On Monday I got 22 rolls from a local credit union & I only found 1 wheatie!! And in the last 2 months only a few per $25 box. Like the last box I went through I found 3 of them. :( Perhaps I should start looking through non credit unions coins! However I did find a 71 DDO, AU. So thatwasawesome, beyond awesome! I also know a cashier who collects wheaties for me as well.

I wrapped two Wheat cent dumps last week, the oldest I could find was a 1916, that was just a quick search. As I had to keep working the machine, kicking out rolls to make a box of cents etc....
