When taking a scan/photo of your note, which color do you think is best to use for a backround color? The color used below was green but I'm not sure I like it.

In my experience, black seems to work best. The edges and corners of the note will stand out, allowing better visual grading.

I agree with @Atlas642. Black is used by most online auction houses for digital images.

Juts my opinion, but I like a dark red background.

I prefer black here, but I do like that muted red, Amrys. I also recall reading about a standard grey in the coin photography forum that works well.
