legend could be : Georg IV Konig v. Grosbritan. u. Hannover
( do I see GROSB)

I ran a search on Numista for copper coins of 1747, but I didn't see it. The closest design was a George II pfennig with a similar GR (not SR) monogram, but that's definitely not it.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for helping out. This is a Polish Grosh - link.http://www.zbior.com/nowa%20polska%...e/index.html

This is our first finding of such old coins and we are now considering a metal detector :)

Looks like that's it. Interesting coin.

Does the third date digit look like a 4 to anyone else? I guess it must be a 6.

These 2 found together would make sense if they were found in a part of Poland that belonged two both, Prussia and Poland in different periods of time. One could also imagine that these Grosz coins were also used to pay under Prussian reign, as Prussia also minted grosz coins of copper in some years back then. The area of todays Poland is really interesting from a numismatic point of view as there have circulated coins minted from Russia, Prussia, Poland and also the Free City of Danzig.
