I found this today while metal detecting. I've rinsed most of the dirt off with water. Whats the best way to remove the remaining soil?

I'd try a soak in warm soapy water, a rinse in clean water followed by a soak in acetone.
Looks like a great find, doesn't appear to have suffered much corrosion.

This is a great find, and understandably suffers from environmental damage. You might try Verdi-Care, but it's a safe bet that the coin will always show evidence of being buried.

Very nice find. I agree with noD that if you need to go beyond soapy water you can soak it in acetone and/or xylene. I'm not sure that VerdiCare will help because I don't see any verdigris on the coin but maybe I'm missing that from the pictures.
