Ok, so I had some time on my hands. Did you ever convert your note serial number into a date, then into a major event? This one happens to equate to March 28, 1754 ... a historical date/event .... First blood of the French and Indian War. http://www.history.com/this-day-in-...d-indian-war Edited by cashhound 04/03/2016 08:53 am

I wouldn't say it's not easy as much as no one really cares to do it. I think majority here collect older notes, rare notes, experimentals, errors, etc... Not too many serial number fanatics, from what I've seen. Just saying...And if there are it might be just general fancy numbers like radars, repeats, etc. I felt bad that everyone left you hanging. You know you gotta figure, most people here like to collect because of the value that's behind collecting in general. All the value comes with the type of notes I listed above and what everyone here talks about. There really isn't any value in looking up an old date that some serial number might resemble. Therefor chances of this thread going anywhere is slim to none. Honestly I'm kind of disappointed with as much traffic as this paper money forum gets. Coin sections blow it away. Wish there were more folks collecting paper money. It's growing though... Right?

Thanx CK. Your opinion is much appreciated. I am very new to this game and learning everyday. Your outlook on currency collecting is helpful. The bulk of my collection deals with US note errors and serial numbers on modern notes. I agree with you that we are growing and I think the we should have some sub-forums in the banknote section.

Yeah you own a deli right, that's how you get all the notes you find? I've only really seen a few of the newer Hundred dollar bills you've posted. What kind of errors do you have now? Did you find the errors in circulation too? I agree, some sub-forums would be great for us.

I buy my birth year notes when I see them and they are not too expensive.

Be careful where you tie up your money, cashhound. I'd spend that sucker and keep the picture.
