I don't collect quarters other than silver ones and also I'm a big fan of Toning,
but that one maybe worth keep cause of the "possible " toning ? I tried to take pictures with different lights and background to make easier the observation , sorry if it is not great , looks much better than is showing on pics ....
I have never seen it before , thanks in advance !

To me, that looks like it's spent some time in a clothes dryer or something similar.

The lines are interesting - do they appear to be part of the metal itself or are they just scratches on the surface? I can't tell from the pictures.

To me

It looks like it was in some sort of fabric. That got wet or was in a humid or wet place.
The lines are from the fabric.

Well .. that is my guess

I think the lines are from rolling the quarter stock, a woodie of sorts... not sure what it's called when the lines don't look so much like wood grain as rolling lines.
