They're still out there -- I paid $175 for mine in an old Whitman Deluxe, it was complete minus the 16D, and as an added bonus, the 21 and 21D both graded G-VG and almost all of the others were between F-AU, some with some very nice album toning. I have since relocated it to a Dansco & replaced some of the lower grades with others that were in my collection.

One thing that helped was being able to look @ seller's feedback and it was clear right away they did not usually sell coins so I had more trust in their claim that it was an inheritance item, especially with some of their other listings.

Here's the Dansco: front & back of both pages. The 1921 and 21D in here are the ones from the $175 album.

I bought a set of Mercury dime minus the 16-d and I bought a set of Washington quarters minus the 32-d 32-S. I have those coins. I see sets of Peace dollars, Mercury dimes, Washington quarters and Roosevelt silver dimes. The Roosevelt dimes I saw were overpriced on ebay. Next time I go to LCS if they have decent sets of these coins I may buy them, but I see few sets selling in AU-MS condition so you takes your chances. I do think buying sets of Mercury dimes and Washington quarters is a deal if they are mostly complete and mostly in at least fine condition depending on the price. I think younger collectors should be buying these coins whenever than can. In 20-30 years these coins will be like coins of 19th and even 18th century.

It's 'details,' but it's still a 1921, so I'd say you did well.

Do you mean D?

Looks decent enough. Can you get a clearer shot of the date, maybe at an angle? The lighting makes the second 1 look like it is not a 1.

I'm having problems taking pictures of small areas without a loupe. I believe that it is a 1.
And yes, I meant D.

No problem. I have no doubt your are right (having your eyes on the coin), but the glare in the photo is in just the right place and caused me to second guess what I was seeing.

Just think how long it would take you to put together a set of Mercury dimes or Silver Washington quarters. I bought a set of silver Roosevelt dimes. Then I went and bought the rest of the set through 2003 just because they were so cheap. It must have taken the collector a long time to find all those Roosevelt dimes even if they have little value. I am running out of 20th century coins to collect except Wheat pennies. I think I will try my hand a collecting Wheat pennies and completing my set of Morgans. I would love to collect gold coins but I think they are just too expensive due to the gold content.
