I have recently picked up a
1947
EATON'S
THE STORE FOR YOUNG CANADA
KEEP ME
NEVER GO BROKE

I'm trying to figure out the value and can only find ebay sales for between $109 and $150 CDN.
Can anyone tell me where to find appraisal values for coins such as this. I'm know I got it at a steal of a price (from an auction) I just want to know how good of a steal it was.

Consider ebay sales figures as a great source of a 'free' appraisal.

You must mean a coin encased in an aluminum ring?
Rest in Peace

The Eaton's Encased Cent is a fairly common one. They come in 47 47ML 48 and maybe some others too. Value depends on condition but in the $5 to $20 area. I don;t think any sell for $100+. I love Encased Cents.

Here is a recent one.

yes its the 1947 encased penny. I only paid $1 for this coin plus a few others that I've found to be worth very little. But still a steal for this find. Plus mine looks to be in a better quality then the ones that sold for $32 cdn. :) thanks

I don't think that one sold for $32. If it was the one I linked to that was the cost with shipping and shipping in listings on ebay are not always unreliable.

Still $1 is a great price. If it is a nice red one I would be keen but you need 50 posts to sell it here.

I'm not sure what you mean, It says $32.73 cdn, plus $6.48 cdn shipping. No matter I plan on keeping it as part of my collection / my own little good luck charm. Thanks to everyone who took the time. :)

is it a Canadian penny, or a Lincoln Penny?
Can you post a picture?
