Yesterday I bought a strange note in a local fleamarket. I am unable to post a picture as I am at work.
The note is 65mm x 40mm and is printed on thin card rather than paper.
(Could it be a voucher?)
The front is printed in shades of brown with black/grey details. Central is a black line drawing of a seated man, with intertwined staff at his feet and masts of a ship in background. At left is the head of a man in white shirt and dark jacket and bow tie, at right Greek arms, both of these surrounded by brown scrollwork. The number 1000 appears frequently.
In the very fine text at the bottom front right I can make out a date. It is "15" followed by a Greek word beginning with "A", followed by 1912.
The rear is just Greek text in a faded dark green with a rectangular line frame around it.
The whole design matches banknotes from Greece around the time of pre-WW1. I am unable to find a picture of it on Google.
