Here's what I think is an Indian coin, given to me by an Indian lady at a reception.

It's 18.9mm in diameter, 2.3mm thick and weighs 11.36g

Both sides upside down :)

Looks to be a rupee from Arcot (Madras Presidency)?

This is an open lotus veriety rupee coin of British India, Madras Presidency, issued from Arcot mint.
