Any ideas/theories on what happened here? Weird how it only affects the left stalk, though. Opinions? Thanks in advance.

My guess would be post mint damage

It is showing metal striations, so something was drug across the coin. If affected on both sides it might have been a vise that damaged the coin. PSD
