I think this coin looks like 005 from coppercoins, based on the increase on the side of the zero.
If this is not caused by doubling is there a good way to tell if it is was?
Curious, because I seem to think I am finding a lot of doubling/varieties/errors, when I have yet to actually find one...

Might it be machine damage to the date devices?

Its weird because on the philly, the doubling from 005 (picture below), the thickness on the date is limited to the E & NE side of the zero.
Your picture of the S mint shows thickness on the NW and SE sections. Maybe I am just seeing things?

Mine is showing a normal coin with MD. No variety on mine.
