I met a guy from Edmonton last May on a trip to Mexico and naturally we got talking about the spy quarter and he offered to send me one, which he did. Unfortunately he taped it to the letter (you know which side got the sticky tape attached to it) and some of the red was remmoved. Do you see a lot in circulation with the red worn off, or even see them in circulation anymore? I am just ciruious how durable the poppy is.

While I don't come across them all that often, they are still in circulation, but the colour has worn off of almost every one I see. On occasion, I will come across one with some colour still left, so I rescue them. The pink ribbons, on the other hand, hold their colour fairly well, and I have yet to see more than one or two examples that don't have the colour.

I haven't seen one in circulation for quite a while. The colour definitely comes of as the coins circulate. The mint's next attempt, the pink ribbon, used a different process and the colour seems pretty much unaffected by circulation.
If the coin in the scan is better than yours then PM me your address and I'll send it to you.

It is similar to the one in the scan. I apologize for not showing photos. I don't have a method of getting up close enough to get a decent shot. Thanks. I need to get back up your way to fill some holes in Whitmans. Did find a CA dime in a Florida fountain...SSSHHH don't tell anyone as it was a date I needed and I figured they couldn't use it.
