What do you think? There are some pretty nasty contact marks on the obv., but the rev. is really good and the strike is good...

MS 62 PL due to a few big marks on the obverse.

I'll say MS-62 PL for this one. Obviously it could sneak into a 63 holder but no real shot at 64.

Not DMPL, might barely make a PL -- MS62. Coin is obviously an 1896, not an 1883-O ;)

Ok, so the pictures I took were meant to really show the contact marks, but I really do think this is a DMPL. It has at least 8" reflectivity and good cameo.

I'm so sorry, I just realized that I had the wrong title for this. Obviously it's an 1896-P. I was looking at an 83-O when I was posting this...
Rest in Peace

I was excited to see an 1883-O ;)

My guess would be 61-62 PL.

the original pics did not show the PL qualities of this coin. I agree with your DMPL assessment

Yeah it's crazy how different the photos can look from the actual coin...you really need to see it in person. That's why I always upload the maximum amount of photos when I list a coin on ebay...

thats why you can't trust photo's on ebay. just by lighting or turning the coin slightly or photographing from an angle can alter the coins appearance and can cover up just about anything. even here in this forum its a challenge although most pics are pretty good
