Have you ever tried rubbing the coin where the date used to be on a piece of paper? It reveals the date! Try it.
Rest in Peace

I've got three Buffalo nickels that have been taunting me with their datelessness. I will have to try this!

It doesn't work with Buffalo nickels. Only copper coins.

CoinCollectic - I would put your nickels in vinegar or the special nickel acid I have a bottle of it and I have found a 1917 S two feather variety and a 1914 D. Here is a link:

I tried it once on a dateless draped bust large cent. It made the area where the date was a little shiny, but I think it helped a little. Try it. If you can would you give us before and after pics if you have a large cent that you want to try it on?
