VF20. the scratches on the face bother me. this is the primary focus area where the eye is initially drawn to. they are probably not that bad since the pics are a blow-up

It sneaks up on VF, but just barely. Technically a VF-20. The scar face would drop the value a good deal.

F Details for the scratch. My understanding was the lowest graded side gets the grade. The left wheat ear juuuust barely has the lines and the weaker strike on the right makes the lines suffer for sure unfortunately. To me the obverse is an easy VF25/30.

VF-20 details, the scratch on the cheek is pretty bad, looks like a staple got it.

I would not be bothered by the scratch. I saw similar scratches on coins graded to MS63RD and MS62BN by NGC and PCGS.
