When my mother died and we had to go through her things, we found a bunch of plastic butter containers full of pennies. Thousands of pennies.

While I would love to go through these my eyes cant handle looking for errors on this small of a coin.

This is my solution. I have bought a few of the Whittman Lincoln Cent books and am planning on donating Pennies and books to the local Foster home. I Volunteer there regularly as I was adopted as a child.

My hope is to start a new "Fad" in the home so to speak, and mabey they will learn some history at the same time.

I would like to donate a descent Lincoln Cent reference guide as well. Any suggestions on a guide?

Thanks...Mont.

Nice idea The Lincoln Cent book from the Whitman/QDB series would be good, you should be able to get one for less than $20.

Give a Red Book. Yes, it covers more than Lincolns, but that's a good thing!
You never know which coin will turn them into collectors.

Consider getting a loop and some cotton gloves to add to the "experience". Let us know how it all turns out. Good luck.

Great plan! I would hope a LCS would be willing to donate most of the items beyond the coins. Might be surprised what help you get if you check around.

If you have a local coin shop you might ask them for assistance. If you don't walk out with a few books for free, ill be surprised.
