I liked the toning. Pretty low grade, but at least it's not bent like the 1852 it's replacing. Two light scratches on obverse, but it looks original.

Around AG? Does it make G details?

It looks like "America" is basically gone in this pic - if so, I'd have to say AG-03. Perhaps you could give us a close-up here.

I would net it down to AG-3, details. The right side of the coin looks to be corroded. These pieces are very prone to corrosion and unattractive toning, even in Mint State, because of their 75% silver, 25% copper composition.

Got to work with the 55mm lens tonight after opening up the coin from the seller.

First thing I noticed was the deep toning (golds, and some iridescent blue/green, dark brown too)

Second thing I noticed was the reverse is either clashed or had transfer from the obverse due to the planchet thinness (the star from the obverse is visible in the center of the III); the reverse also has a major die crack from about 8:00 to past 12:00.

Third thing - America is visible, but faint. The toning mostly obscures it.

Here are the pictures. I tried a few different shots to see what would work. The ones that make the coin look non-toned are taken with high intensity lighting; the toned pictures are more accurate to the in-hand appearance, but without the iridescence (hard to photo.)

Much closer to natural color (although first is blurry)
