I'm New to Colonial coins I'm guessing this coins is XF45 to AU50 the question is does the Clip add much of a premium and what would it grade also is there a way to tell if its a period or no period?

Your grade assessment IMO is spot on.
Clip would depend on individual. I don't find them attractive errors personally but to a Virginia Halfpenny collector, he might find it fulfilling to his/her collection.

Probably but I don't have the right references. There are 22 obvere dies for this series, 13 with no period and 9 with a period. There are 22 reverse as well. I think yours is a 6 harp string reverse and there are only two dies for that. (If it is a 7 string there are 15 dies for that.)
