DavidUK Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2624 Posts	Posted 04/22/2016 04:45 am I have these three incoming... Just one gap left on my Greek Bronzes page... this is for a Tetras of Kamarina. Presently I see coins I want for $300 and ones I don't want for $60... looking to find something in the middle of those prices that still has eye appeal. With these three I sacrificed a little in quality to balance my budget. The Zeugitania coins can really be expensive better than this... the Macedonia coin was a whim because it reminds me of the Chalkis Drachms with the eagle and snake... a coin I was in search of for quite a time but I don't think I will get now... I have one space for a Greek silver which I have a plan for. The Thrace coin was also an impulse purchase... who doesn't like lions? Report this Post to the Staff

The more I look at it the less I like the way the back of the horse is kind of doubled, its almost as if you can see the palm tree through it too. I can't see this on others, but this one is much cheaper than most of the ones available. Should I be worried? Report this Post to the Staff

Spence Moderator United States 34437 Posts	Posted 04/22/2016 3:17 pm @david, I am by no means knowledgeable about these coins, but my interpretation of the Zeugitania's reverse was that there was a little bit of saddle on the horse rather than palm tree trunk showing through. I can see what you are saying though, the doubling on the root of the tail is mostly offset down with a little offset to the right. Now that I think about it more specifically (and cheat by looking it up on horse.com), saddles were invented in 365 AD so there is no way for this to be a saddle.
