For those who noodle regularly, when was the last time you found one in circulation? How many $2 coins do you have to withdraw to have a reasonable (>50%) chance of finding one?

The last one I found was in change from Woolworths in October 2015.They seem to have disappeared from circulation.

I have found two of them in probably 5000 coins that I have been withdrawing and depositing over the past month or so. Also found 4 orange, and 1 each of the red and green $2. The red poppy is the only one I am yet to come across, although I have a feeling finding one of those may be near impossible.

Thanks for that. That's much better than I was expecting. After noodling through 1500 (or $3000 worth of) $2 coins, I've only found one each of the 2015 coloured coins, and none of the 2012-2014 ones. The 2012 one is generally considered to be NCLT, so don't feel bad about not finding it. I've only ever found the orange one in change, although I know someone who has found the green one as well. This is already putting a significant strain on my budget, so I really wanted to make sure it would pay off in the long run. If this is the current strike rate, then I'll keep looking instead of buying from a dealer. I'll let you know how it turns out when I've got a much larger sample size.

There are plenty of the orange ones cropping up in Perth. I have received at least a dozen of them in change.

I've found a green and red one in change, ended up buying my orange from a dealer.

I noodled $500 of $2 coins few months ago, I've got a green one(2014). I don't usually noodled $2 coins. Because, 5 cents coin is often came out instead of $2 coin, when I unrolled $2 coin rolls. I found 5 5 cents coins at the noodling, I lost $ 9.75 Anyway, I got one from my local shop in Sydney last year. John

I got about 4 5c coins in a $2000 bag...I am surprised you got them in rolls.
I'm still yet to see a green 2014 coin; having gone through 7,006 so far. None in change either.

The 2014 Green $2 was hoarded immediately it was issued. It is a big "Ask" to find them noodling

I think that applies to all the coloured $2 coins!
