2x2 Coin Holders Are They OK For Storage Of Coins

Hi all I collect mainly Australian uncirculated decimals and mint rolls/bags and love noodling (i am away working for a few days so brought 800 5 cent pieces along to look for errors as I get better ill pull out the varieties as well).
but my concern is are the 2x2 coin holders ok for long term storage
i use staple ones

I see no problem with 2x2's as long as they are newer. The old ones had problems. Since you use the staple kind like I do make sure to flatten the staples.

For inexpensive coins 2x2's are acceptable.
(NOTE: You determine what "inexpensive" is for your purposes.)
In general I also avoid 2x2's for silver coins.

If you can afford about 18 cents each I recommend the self seal. Air tight, no staples, lots of writing room.

Yeah,i agree especially for the better grade Coins,buy the German made ones,Lighthouse for eg,from a reputable dealer,some of the 'Lighthouse' on ebay are Chinese copies/fakes so beware.

Mylar 2x2 cardboard holders are all that I use.

My collection is worth perhaps multiple tens of thousands of dollars, and I have been using this sort of 2x2 for more decades than I care to remember.

Absolutely, Basel. I even pay the extra postage from Germany just to be sure they are the real self seal. Got bargains once from ebay seller and I knew they were wrong the moment I opened the package.
