On this 1972 the only doubling I noticed was across The In God We Trust. On the back the N and the T Looked damaged maybe? I didn't notice a lot of Doubling except across the In God We Trust. Anyone Have any idea what it is I'm seeing on this? I would Appreciate the help. Thank you Edited by Mdnyte 04/24/2016 6:23 pm

LIBERTY looks a little different. But circulation may have damaged it a bit? Here is a side by side of 003-008 LIBERTY I agree it does look like 1972P-1DO-008.

Question for my knowledge, how can we tell with these pictures? I see the secondary image looks closer to the field of the coin than the primary image making me thought it was machine doulbing when I first saw it. I thought double die, both images have the same height from the field of the coin. In the images from what I can see it doesn't seem to be the case. Sorry I don't understand =(. I do see the double but because the secondary image is much closer to the field I thought it was md? You can see the WE in IN GOD WE TRUST. The secondary image of the E even merges into the field from what I can see (towards the left of the vertical bar in the E character). Sorry I have a hard time sometimes telling the difference. Maybe the photo is tricking me

The big difference is the width of the devices. It is a doubled die. If it were MD, these devices would be reduced. (which it is enlarged because it is a doubled die)
