I cant seem to find anything on this coin, most I figured out is that the writing is in Latin. Any thoughts as to what it is?

It is a medal of Pope Gregory the First, but he is more commonly referred to as Saint Gregory. I can't seem to find that exact medal, is there any chance you can get a better picture of the words underneath his face? You could also wait for a more experienced member.

Thanks for the reply. The word on the face side just says "silver". But I will post some clearer pictures of the face side when I get home.

It's definitely modern medal or at least a modern replica of one. If it's really silver, that would give it some value, though.

I'm worried about the pitting in the surface. Doesn't that make it likely it was cast?

The Latin suggests the medal commemorates the Sodality of Saint Gregory located in Downside, England. Sodalities are religious groups. Looks like a Catholic medal.
