This cent displays what appears at first glance to be clashed dies: however, the surviving details on the OBV and REV are of a pattern not seen on the cent, nor any other coins in the range of dates 1862, 1863, 1864, 1865, 1866.

The REV only shows a sharp raised ridge at about 7:00, so I'm providing the OBV only.

I need help with this one - I'm stumped!

The obverse shows the typical clash mark of the C of CENT of the reverse. It would help if you provided an image of the reverse, also.

Might this 1864 bronze cent be struck over a Civil War Token? If you have enough of the under type details see if it matches with any known patriotic or store card, a large task but neat if you find a match.

I see a normal clashed die. This date has some incredible clashed dies out there, and to me, this appears to be a normal clash.

Thanks for the help guys!

Yep, it's a clashed die of the 'C' in 'CENT' with the details of the wreath beneath it. At 7:00 on the REV I can see the Clash of the Indians nose.

Sorry, one more question about this coin, and I can put it to rest:

Is it typical for this clash to have a weak strike at the top half of the oak wreath; and, a similar question about the tips of the Indian's feathers?

If not, I'm inclined to call this EF to AU...

Here is a clash overlay for the 1964 Indian Head cent.
