I have a 2009 Presidential dollar proof set that looks bad, it has smudges all over the faces of the presidential proof set coins inside the plastic lens. Should I just remove the coins from the plastic and spend them as change because it's not worth much because problems. No coin dealer or collector will buy this proof set. So it doesn't have any collector value. Thats it then just makes the coin a regular change coin not worth Keeping, at least its a dollar each to spend as change. The coins look like the photo below some even worst.

The sets are not air tight. Where did you store them?

Looks like poor storage has claimed more victims.

I dont think is storage the problem. I have like 50 more proof sets that are in perfect condition and stored in the same place. I think it's a usmint problem, they come like that but can't see it right away, it shows after a while like slab coins that show fingerprints after been slab.

Anyways my question is what to do with them not how they got that way. Should I just spend them since there damage cause can't sell them as a collectible anymore. Anyways This proof dollars are selling like for face value in good contidion at coin shops. even problem free Coins aren't worth much. Are this impared proofs just regular pocket change now.
