Thanks to the members on other forumPlease load the Gold Delta RCM coin on SilverGoldBull.ca for CAD 1455.95 (CC/Paypal) still available... keep in mind that Silver Delta (limited mintage of only 5.000 worldwide) is coming (for your collection). And the gold coin - if you getting it, other people (potential ebay sellers) as well.

Funny - so SGB had around 20, which is around the same as Canada Post (at least that's what I recollect reading on one of the two forums). You'd figure/hope that CP would have had more than other dealers given the nature of the CP/mint relationship but apparently not. Its also too bad that dealers are selling for a premium before release date - seems a little silly to have the mint promoting a price that says also available from official dealers and than those dealers are selling for a premium (whether large or small). I think the mint can only 'suggest' a retail price to the dealers but can't enforce it.
I remain curious about the silver delta. 5,000 seems like alot - and not having seen a picture or price there's not a lot we can really speculate about until Tuesday!

Quote: Consider them absorbed ! Not really. It absorbed by re-resellers and dealers mostly. Take a look at the amount units on ebay for sale. While multy-national ST community of fans just declines to buy (and basically doesn't care) for the asking price. Public prefers many for less. Btw, today Mr W.Shatner has to be in the Toronto.... I had the idea to get signed some ST related coin, but I not die hard fan of it. Imo, 5000 of Silver Delta is "less" than 1500 of Gold Delta despite the math, but exactly according to the theory of relativity.

The Coin Shoppe managed to sell 1 coin only after 4 hours, and this was known on both coin collected forums? You must be kidding... RCM in 2013 managed to sell Glass Butterfly coin with mintage of 10k in 1 hour, and......is this coin still popular? Who paid in 2012 CAD 29.99 + tax for GITD-2 ? Anyway, coin collectors buying also 1oz gold coins for CAD 2000+ , and this doesn't tell, that these coins popular. My point is, that many-many ST fans leave this coin in sellers hands and not rushing to by it, by this causing to quick climb up in the price....instead of this, people getting various plastic stuff, figures, cards, posters, stamps and different inexpensive a-la Star Trek items... Added: But I agree - it still good for resell, if you got it for issue price

Quote: RCM in 2013 managed to sell Glass Butterfly coin with mintage of 10k in 1 hour, and......is this coin still popular? While the butterfly may not be popular anymore, the previous two coins sure are (bumblebee and ladybug). Comparing this specific coin to the Star Trek Delta is like comparing Apples to Oranges (based on the huge mintage difference of 10000 vs. 1500, gold vs. silver content, uniqueness, etc). Butterfly was 3rd in the series, whereas Star Trek Delta is a world first of a popular theme. Look at the 2013 Superman gold, that coin was not 1 oz of gold yet it averages over $2,000 and still commands a large premium. The Star Trek Delta has more gold content and lower mintage. If you're talking about why would someone buy a gold delta at $2000+ when they could buy a 1 oz gold maple leaf, well look at it this way... how many gold maple leafs are made each year vs. this Delta? Numismatic gold vs. bullion gold is hard to compare. If you're talking about numismatic 1 oz gold coins, how many times can you buy a gold coin depicting polar bears and beavers over and over when you could get something cool and unique like a Delta coin?

Quote:Checking the other forum and ebay, it sad to see many available there (for premium) and some will be awailable in boutiques everywhere. The coin has mintage 1500 or 2000 right? So what we can think about coin , that coin collectors worldwide and million army of ST fans can't absorb it? The mintage is 1500. There are millions of Star Trek fans but not all are coin collectors. Otherwise all of the RCM Star Trek coins would have been sold out long time ago. It seems $2000 is the benchmark for the gold Delta coin for now. Buy it now prices are around the $1800 to $2000 range. Most of the sold coins have been below $2000. Some people have compared the gold Delta coin to the 2013 Gold Superman. That is clearly wrong because the Superman gold coin started at a lower price point and is able to sell at 2x to 3x issue. Because the gold delta coin started at a high value of $1299, it is much harder to sell for 2x issue. In other words there is less room for it to grow. I expect the prices for the gold delta to remain around the $2000 mark. It will likely go lower as more listings go on ebay.
