Just did a SEM/EDS on this piece which weighed 22.5 grams and the the silver was 90%. Interesting. Not sure if any other Mexican collectors have witnessed Chihuahua cast 8R pieces this light off the ~ 26.5 grams standard (per se). Comments? Do the weights on these vary this much?

The two I have are correct weight-wise (you handled one of them).
Could you post a picture please ?

Monday night will post pics with the SEM/EDS scan showing 90% Ag. It was either debased or was undersized ... I was expecting it to be debased as the coin ring is a bit off. As with the 1811 sometimes coming with Plain Edges this too seems to be another anomaly with these Chihuahua cast pieces sometimes being underweight - although this is my first encounter at 90% Ag.
