I realize it's a bit like choosing your favorite child, but which note in your collection is your favorite? For me, based on quality, design and serial number, it's this one: Your turn!

I was working at an independent auto parts store during the day, and at night I moonlighted by working at a small garage. The owner paid me in cash. I assembled a make shift frame from scrap wood, painted it with Krylon part number 2405 Chevrolet Orange engine paint, and used 3M part number 08001 yellow weatherstrip adhesive to glue the note on to the frame. I've stored it in a HAV-A-TAMPA wooden cigar box for 44 years. It is indeed my favorite note.

The 'Bearded Gentleman' on the first note pictured, Oh My, I look 95% just like him! How much would I pay for that note, in a decent condition?

Well, I think I paid around $1000 for that particular note a couple of years ago. I guess it all depends on what you consider "decent" condition.

Quote: barryg -personally, how do you grade it? I don't. I really know nothing about grading paper money and have relied solely on reputable dealers being honest with me. Now that I'm buying more expensive and rare notes, I tend to only buy from one or two established dealers at the big show I go to once a year. My interest in notes really consists of appreciating the various designs and wanting to put together an affordable type set. Unlike coins, where I have purchased numerous high end coins over the years as investments, my notes are all ungraded and I really don't care if they go up, down or sideways in value. Quote: Two favorites. Nice! I thought of posting my $5 Educational, but the condition is really rough compared to the $2 note I posted. And I just knew somebody wouldn't be able to resist posting two favorites instead of just one...

I found this note while going through a currency collection left to me by my deceased mother. It has my Mother and Fathers name on it with their engagement date. I posted a thread with this note earlier (see link). https://goccf.com/t/258279
