Hi guys
I have seen on one of the South African sites
There is a 1947 5 pesos the condition looks AU to
Me and the seller wants $17.68 dollars.
Is it a good deal?

Right now melt value alone is $15.51 in US$.

I don't think that is a bad price honestly as long as you are talking US$.

One of my favorite world silver coins.

Larger than a Morgan dollar, more silver than any American circulating coin ever, and a great design. That 2 year design for the 47-48 5 Peso coin is fantastic.

I paid about $25 for a pristine MS example close to 2 months ago. Price seems reasonable if the coin looks good to you.

That eagle on the reverse is the best.

It is on many of the Mexican silver coins, but only that one really pops.

Parts of it look like it is high relief or something.

To me, it is the King of Mexican junk silver bins. I will never find one anywhere near melt and let it slip by.
