I was under the impression that the mint had said they had no way of telling which coins were first strikes... As for the MS70 I personally cannot tell the difference between MS69 and 70 so I would go for the cheaper option. After all you are relying on someone else's opinion of the grade until the coin is in hand. Even then you should be able to determine its an MS70 yourself. It has been said may a time here buy the coin not the holder. If you are happy with the purchase then thats all that really matters. Report this Post to the Staff

gbchaosmaster Valued Member United States 328 Posts	Posted 02/24/2008 7:36 pm Don't buy an MS70 coin unless it's in a PCGS/NGC/ANACS slab. Even if it actually is MS70, it probably won't be by the time it gets to you unless slabbed. A mark on a coin viewable only under a powerful microscope is enough to make the grade MS69.
